The PTA
The culmination of bingo night on Friday 29th March was a combined presentation of a cheque from the PTA, Panto group and Robertswood Rangers to the value of £25,000. I would like to say a massive thank you for the cheque together with other contributions which has helped purchase the remaining i-pads as a highlight of the donations in 2018/2019. The other message to share is my appreciation of their combined efforts of bringing unique and additional opportunities to the life of Robertswood School. In addition, thank you to families for taking part in these events and activities which ultimately helps raise funds for the school. Look out for more fundraising events in the near future.
The Robertswood Pantomime group require a massive thank you for the four performances of Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood that took place over the weekend.
A combination of a great script, fantastic acting and beautiful singing provided great entertainment for all the family. A mention must also be made to the other members of the group who contributed to its success for work from behind the scenes, to lighting the show and the sound effects to the ticketing for the event. Also, a big thank you to the PTA for providing refreshments.
Weeks of rehearsals has meant that the group has devoted a great deal of time to a cause which ultimately raises funds for the school – so a big thank you to all the families in supporting the cast and crew during this extended period of time. Early indications point to a total that is in excess of £5,000.
For those parents that didn’t manage to get along to the show, you may not realise that a number of the cast and crew will be leaving at the end of the year. To those parents and those who were at any of the shows and you liked what you saw, this is a great chance for any budding actors and technicians to get involved next year and guarantee the survival of this vital fundraising group.
Welcome to the PTA page. Robertswood PTA is a registered charity with one main aim: to raise much needed funds to purchase equipment for the school by providing fun social activities.
We organise a number of regular events such as the Christmas Evening, Frankie’s Special lunches, the 100 Club, and our big summer event, the Summer Fair. The PTA tries to ensure that money raised is shared fairly so as to benefit all children at the school.
There are lots of ways to get involved:
Remember, helping the school out by supporting a PTA event does not require you to be at ANY meetings or be part of ANY committees! We'd love you to dip in and out and help where you can - it could be serving Frankie's hot dogs once a year for an hour, putting up some gazebo's on the morning of the Summer Fair or shopping for Movie Night sweets - The PTA should be fun, welcoming and not a burden. Our aim is to make a difference for the good of the kids who attend Robertswood School.
Our meetings are normally once each half term. Everyone is welcome. If you would like to come along to a meeting please ask at the school office for details.
