Governors

The Governors come from all sections of the community: parents, staff (including the Headteacher at the school), the business world, representatives of local councils and education authority.

The role of the Governors is to work with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team in the strategic leadership and management of the school, setting and managing budgets, overseeing staffing and ensuring the Health and Safety of the school premises. The responsibility for the internal organisation and day to day running of the school lies with the Headteacher.

Much of the Governors work is undertaken by smaller groups working in committees who then feed back their recommendations to the half-termly full Governors meeting. Additional meetings are held as and when required. The governing body sub-committees include Strategy, Finance/Premises, Staffing, Curriculum and Data.

By working in partnership with the Headteacher, staff, parents and the Local Education Authority, the Governors are able to ensure that Robertswood School provides the best learning environment for our pupils.
