Thursday 20th June 2024 - On Thursday night, our Year 5 netball team played a spirited game under the hot sun. Despite the challenging conditions and ultimately losing the match, our players demonstrated incredible resilience. The team made some amazing interceptions and took impressive shots on goal, showcasing their hard work and dedication. Evelyn and Samuel were outstanding, earning joint Player of the Match. We are extremely proud of all the players for their effort and sportsmanship!
Tuesday 30th April 2024 - On Tuesday, Downley school visited us at Robertswood to play a mixed netball game. The game was very competitive with both teams scoring goals after each centre. For Robertswood, Blake scored some excellent goals right from the edge of the circle to leave us at a 2-2 draw at half time. Unfortunately, Downley has some good opportunities at goal and ended up winning 5-3. Despite this, Robertswood played exceptionally well and challenged the other team throughout the whole game. Finn came away with player of the match for his brilliant interceptions. Well done Robertswood!

Thursday 25th April 2024 - A fantastic afternoon of football at the Year 5 6-a-side tournament on Thursday evening. Robertswood had two teams in action and came away with some great performances, goals and smiles all round.
Special mention to Sienna for sending the play-off game into penalties with a last minute goal that had parents (and teachers) celebrating wildly on the sidelines.
Unfortunately, for the second year in a row, Robertswood lost out on penalties but a wonderful afternoon of football nevertheless and as always, Year 5 did themselves proud!
Tuesday 23rd April 2024 - On Tuesday 23rd April, Robertswood’s Under 11 Girls’ football team played in a tournament at Dr Challoner’s High School. In the event, we were one of only two schools that turned up, but that was never going to discourage our girls from competing to the best of their ability.
We began the first game in tentative fashion, demonstrating some solid defending alongside a peculiar reluctance to shoot on goal. However, right at the death, we managed to walk a single goal across the line to give us a 1:0 victory.
The second game saw a significant boost in confidence and quantity of goals. There were superb performances across the pitch and we ran out 4:0 victors and had secured the championship with a game to spare.
Thus, in our final game, we mixed the team up. We had a goalkeeper up front, a midfielder in goal and other players filling in across the pitch. Despite this, we remained very solid right up until conceding our first goal of the tournament. This meant we needed a late rally, which was duly delivered and meant we finished our evening with a 1:1 draw.
Overall, it was a very successful evening and a well-deserved opportunity for the girls to celebrate. Throughout, they represented the school brilliantly and the staff present couldn’t have been prouder.
